Welcome! We're so glad you're here. I'm Terry Godfrey. I'm running to represent Palo Alto and Stanford on the Foothill-De Anza Community College District Board of Trustees.

This is my mission. Every student deserves a world-class education and trustees who are dedicated, every day, to breaking down barriers to making that possible.

My experience as Palo Alto School Board President and as a long-term CFO uniquely qualify me for this work. Trustees need the temperament and experience to govern – setting expectations, tackling roadblocks, making tough decisions, supporting faculty and staff, ensuring long-term financial and organizational sustainability, and operating transparently.

I'm committed to public education and I'm ready to serve. Please take a look around our website and familiarize yourself with my candidacy.  I'd love your support, and more importantly, I'd love to hear about your joys, ideas, and concerns about Foothill and De Anza.  Below is some news from the campaign trail.  You can reach me at [email protected]

September included an excellent forum hosted by the Palo Alto League of Women Voters, events all over town, an important endorsement from Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, and lots of door knocking.

August was about taking the oath of office to get on the November ballot, canvassing and meeting our community.

July: I went into the office of the Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters and picked up the forms needed to get onto the November 5th ballot.

Earlier this summer:

I'm honored to have earned the endorsements of the current President and Vice President of the Foothill-De Anza Community College District Board, Peter Landsberger and Pearl Cheng.  They both have long and storied histories supporting public education and they will be strong partners in the important work to come.

My campaign has been endorsed by Supervisor Joe Simitian. Over many years we've partnered on issues important to us both including youth mental health, teacher housing, and preserving the Buena Vista community. He's a champion for youth and families and an extraordinary public servant.

I appreciate his partnership and support.

My bedrocks of support have been students, former Foothill-De Anza Trustees, and leaders across our community.
